The Hawaiian Goddess Hiʻiaka: An Epic Theatrical Event

Witzend Productions

Written by Roslyn Catracchia and Patrick Makuakāne, with choreography by Patrick Makuakāne

The story of Hiʻiakaikapoliopele began as a Hawaiian oral tradition passed down through generations. The musical follows the goddess Hiʻiaka on a quest to find Pele’s dream lover, restore him to life, and return him safely to Pele. Along the journey, Hiʻiaka and her companions face supernatural dangers, temptation, jealousy, and betrayal. At its heart, it is a powerful story of two sisters, the havoc caused by their falling out, and the possibility of redemption.
