HONOLULU – Hawaiian Airlines today announced it will begin daily non-stop flights between Sacramento (SMF) and Kahului, Maui (OGG) next year, offering convenient, direct access to the Valley Isle on the airline's new Airbus A321neo from California’s capital city. The Center is excited to offer two screenings of Stacey Hayashi’s “Go for Broke: an Origins Story,” featuring a star-studded, all-Japanese American cast mostly from Hawaii, and a local crew telling the tale of the start of the famed 442nd Infantry Regiment Combat Team of World War II–the most decorated unit in the history of the United States military for its size and time in combat.
In the spirit of Aloha, the Nihonmachi Street Fair has begun presenting the "Aloha by the Bay®" music series as part our fundraising efforts. It is our hope that by through these concerts we can build friendship, showcase and bring together the many talented Hawai'ian and local musicians.
